I wanted to share the story and life of our baby Maddy...

MADISON OUR LOVE,

Two young people, love at first site
One with a boy, one with a girl
Two young people, their hearts in a whirl.

They decide to join
A family to form
And soon they learned
That YOU were to be born

What a sweet, sweet miracle Sent from the Lord,
A miracle of Love what a joy divine
Excitement filled the air, dreams were born
Joy and anticipation filled our days

A home was bought, decorated in love
Awaiting the hour, we would first have our little dove

The trip to the hospital, the birth and then
The most beautiful baby, the world ever saw

You were so lovely, wonderful to behold
A beauty of love, my miracle child
With mommy's nose and eyes of daddy
We knew right away you were our little Maddy.

Everyone was so proud, grandpa and ma,
Uncle and aunt, cousins
Most of all sister and brother
Mommy was proud, so was daddy
Proud of our miracle, out Little Maddy.

You were so special, God sent you to us
He knew what was coming, He trusted our love
To find the strength to take care of you
Hard times were to come, it is sad, but it is true.

We noticed your sweet little belly
was getting larger, like a bowl full of jelly
You were stumbling and falling always to the right
But most toddlers do, but it was starting to be a sad sight

You were so happy, laughing and cooing
That at first we thought nothing was amiss
You were so sweet, playful and strong
But we decided to find what was wrong

At first, it was nothing the doctors said
But as time passed, things got worse
And mommy was worried, so to doctors she continued to go
2, then 4, 6, 8, 10 and more
After 13 visits in 10 long months
A new doctor we decided to see
Oh what a miracle it was, for you and for me.

The problem he spotted, right away
Took an x-ray, the ultrasound was taken next day
We didn't know, but the worse was to come
God was going to put us to the test
But we loved you and would see that you got the best.

I remember the day, October 21 it was
you in your high chair, eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
me typing on the computer with friends
The ring of the phone, my heart broke at the message
The doctor told mommy, an oncologist, surgeon and bed
were all waiting for you, that is what he said.

My eyes were full of tears, my heart filled with fear
you were so big, yet so little
My love so great
I was afraid my heart would really break

A tumor you had, in children there are 2 types
You needed to be immediately admitted
Daddy was putting a motor in my truck
I was screaming and crying and running amuck

Off to grandma and grandpas sister was whisked
You to the hospital to start all the tests
My what a big girl you were, what a baby were we
On October 23, 1999, they removed your right kidney.

Biopsies and central Line, hours and hours it took
While the whole family cried and shook
Grandma and pa, aunts, uncles, sister and cousins
Everyone was there by the dozens

Doctor came out, you did great
Soon we could see you
We just couldn't wait.

Oh honey, the shock of seeing you like that
so small in that big bed
As you awoke, pain you did have,
but thank God medicine was given
to help you get through and on with liven

Jesus was at your side day and night
To comfort and heal you and bless you
Your favorite character, Barney it was
When his video was on, relax you would
So pain medicine was not needed anymore.

The tumor was Wilms tumor they said
Stage 1 and favorable Histology said
A couple of spots on your lungs they did see
But did not know what ever they be

Highly unlikely for it to spread up there
But per your road map for recovery
Chemotherapy was ordered
to begin in a couple of days.

The first made you sick, threw up and cried.
Mommy and daddy stayed right by your side
Daddy held you in love and tears he did shed
Mommy with tears cleaned up you and the bed.

The next day, what a glorious day
Feeling better you were to come home with us
October 30, 1999, I will never forget
my happy little girls, with smiles, laughter and grins
You came home to run and play
Getting into everything What a truly great day!

You had some adjusting to new things in your life
like flushing your central line and changing your dressing
But you were such an awesome child
What a wonderful Blessing

Weeks and weeks of chemotherapy
Trips in and out of the hospital
Tests after test
But you by the LORD were truly BLESSED!

Now it is April 21st, 2000 and guess what
after check up, blood test, ultra sound, cat scan and all
You are all better my love!!!
God brought you through, Our Lord from Above

We are so blessed, time and again
By having a wonderful, beautiful, strong daughter
Blessed, happy me and daddy for having you,
OUR WONDERFUL MADDY.
WE LOVE YOU,
MOM AND DAD
